Bushiroad Music Inc. Production Unit
I’m currently part of the production team at Bushiroad Music, where I handle PR for the real bands in BanG Dream!. I’m mainly in charge of MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica.
My day-to-day work includes updating the website and social media (mainly X), writing press releases, and coordinating interviews.
On live show days, I’m at the venue checking and selecting photos taken on-site, and I post updates on X right after the show ends. Afterward, I put together materials with those photos and share them with different media outlets so more people can see what the live was like.
How often we have lives really depends on the season. Outside of busy event periods like summer or winter, I’m mostly doing desk work. When there’s a new CD or Blu-ray release, I handle the announcements on the official site and post reminders on social media and basically all the communication and promo work around the release.
Our team consists of five members. While I handle PR, we also have staff who work directly on production. Because each of us may be assigned to different events or projects, we often work independently — though on live event days, we collaborate closely.
The atmosphere is very open and friendly. We exchange opinions freely and have built a comfortable environment where everyone can speak honestly and share ideas without hesitation.
At first, I worked closely under the guidance of my supervisor, starting with basics and gradually I was given harder tasks.
For live events, there are many things you can only learn by doing, so I gained experience step by step, often by jumping right into the situations and figuring things out on-site.
I was impressed by the sincerity during the job interview. When I was talking about my university experiences, my passion for entertainment, and my strength, the interviewer responded with real understanding and empathy.
I felt that they truly wanted to get to know me as a person. That warmth and respect made me decide that this was where I wanted to work.
Since I got my Master’s degree in a science-related major, my studies don't directly relate to my current role. My research projects and part-time jobs gave me many opportunities to take initiative in a group.
In my current position, I’m often required to take the lead and move projects forward independently. I feel that the proactive mindset I developed as a student has become one of my greatest strengths today.
Honestly, nothing at all! I always thought that “there’s no way students can really imagine what working life is like — you don’t know until you’re actually in it!” So I purposely jumped in without any fixed expectations. I think it was good that I joined the company with the mindset of accepting whatever came my way.
All I really knew was that it was a huge company handling all kinds of entertainment, so no matter which department I ended up in, I was just happy at the thought of being involved in entertainment in some way.
This past summer, the bands I’m in charge of went on tour, and that whole period left a huge impression on me. We had live shows back-to-back with almost no breaks, and for every single show I handled all the PR tasks: announcements, updates, and everything that happens before and after each event, so it really pushed my stamina and focus.
I go to concerts regularly so experiencing the backstage atmosphere for the first time at work was totally new to me. At first I didn’t understand what was going on, but I just focused on whatever was in front of me and did my best with what I was taught. Time flew by so fast.
And seeing fans closely made me realize just how much they really love and support the content. I can feel their passion from the audience, and it makes me happy!
My goal is to deliver information that excites and inspires fans even more. As part of the PR team, my mission is to deliver what our creative teams produce, accurately, engagingly, and in a way that draws attention. I see my role as a bridge between creators and audience, helping to connect their passion and increase their joy.
For example, when we announce new information on the official website, I try to think about how we can make the reveal as exciting as possible; how to design the page or frame the message so fans feel the surprise. I want every announcement to spark happiness and anticipation.
Bushiroad is a perfect place for people who like to take initiative. I think this job is a great fit for someone who doesn’t just wait for instructions, but thinks for themselves, takes initiative, and really wants to be hands-on with their work.
Before joining, I didn’t have a clear picture of what working in the entertainment industry would be like. But once I started, I realized that while there are challenges, there’s also excitement. New things to learn, new opportunities to take on, and the satisfaction of seeing your ideas come to life.
At Bushiroad, once you finish one project, another exciting challenge is already waiting. If you’re someone who loves that kind of fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, I encourage you to join us!
