TCG Marketing team
I am part of the TCG marketing team. Here, I handle a wide range of advertisements such as transportation advertisements, online advertisements, and TV commercials. For TV commercials, I create the storyboard for upcoming products.
After placing the ads it is important to analyse the effectiveness. I compile the data and work with research agencies to conduct brand surveys to know whether or not the ads lead to customer awareness and sales.
Being involved in both the production and analytical process lets me experience the full cycle of marketing and I find it very rewarding.
The marketing team consists of five members, spanning a wide range of ages.
The environment is open and communication is easy. Each member has different specialties and strengths so we become a powerful team when we get together.I perform my tasks while continuously developing my skills every day by getting advice from the experienced members.
I spent about two months in the sales department for training. Although I wasn’t assigned to the sales team afterall, the experience has been incredibly valuable to pursue my current role. I visited TCG shops to exchange information and listen to the needs of shop owners, and had many opportunities to communicate with customers.
Even though I don’t have as many opportunities of interaction with customers now at my current position, the experience is benefiting me in my current work..
I originally had a strong interest in marketing and focused my job search in the entertainment industry. Among the companies I met, Bushiroad stood out because of its relatively young corporate history. I assumed that young employees have more chances to take on challenges early in their careers. l thought that this was the place where I will be able to lead new projects from an early stage.
I perform table magic as a hobby and love being on stage! But in the university magic club, I shifted to the production team and was part of the backstage. I took the lead in event management: renting halls, gathering guests and overseeing the entire production.The feeling of teamwork and achievement that comes from working with many people toward one goal is similar to what I experience in my current job.
My current position involves coordinating and negotiating with various internal and external stakeholders. The experience of “bringing people together and making something happen” during my student life is incredibly valuable.
The most memorable experience was when I handled my very first web advertisement.
It was for “Weiβ Schwarz”. By carefully selecting the target audience for the ad and managing the process with my own approach, I was pleased to see the metrics exceed expectations and achieve tangible results.I enjoy web advertising because you can instantly see how many people visit the site after clicking or how many likes a post gets.
Eventually, I would like to take a step beyond promoting works and challenge myself to become someone who actually creates them. In my current role in marketing, I constantly think about questions such as “What kind of IPs resonate with users?” and “Which approaches are likely to sell?” I believe this experience will be invaluable when I eventually take on the role of a creator myself.
Bushiroad continues to develop new IPSs. I am fully dedicated to my current work, while feeling the potential to take on a wide range of challenges, from advertising to actual content creation.
Take this time to dive into things that interest you and really enjoy your student life! Even experiences that don’t seem connected to job hunting or your future career can turn out to be useful in unexpected ways.
For instance, I once edited a welcome video for my club as a student. That skill now comes in handy for quick video edits in advertising, letting me get things done fast without having to outsource.
Nothing you try is ever wasted. Enjoy your student years to the fullest and go after the things you’re curious about with energy and passion!
