Zhou Ying
2026 New Graduate
Bushiroad Move Inc. Sales Department, Sales Team 4
I am in charge of marketing work in the Sales Department of Bushiroad Move.
Specifically, I handle our company’s official websites and X accounts, image editing and design production, as well as event management, including screening events.
Since we often handle content from other companies as an advertising agency, we work with clients and voice acting agencies to handle advertising and production, as well as approval requests, reviewing deliverables, and delivering the final product.
In addition, I am involved in collaborating with various internal departments for recording-related work, and new business initiatives such as turning voice actor photos into merchandise and selling them through online raffles.
It is an approachable atmosphere, and the team culture is very strong. We move our projects forward through discussions with those around us.
All my senior colleagues are kind, and if there is something I do not understand, they are thorough in their guidance, so I can work with peace of mind.
Since one project is handled by two or more people, we value "reporting, communication, and consultation" and proceed by cooperating as a team. For events, our team often goes on-site together to handle operations on the ground.
I myself have been involved in stage greetings and film screening events since my internship days. At that time, I was mainly supporting specific projects, but now I am in charge of a wider scope, including marketing other companies' content. Even in my daily work, I feel like my working environment allows me to learn about the workings of each task, consulting my senior colleagues about things I do not understand as I go along.
After joining, I learnt the ropes from my senior colleagues, and gradually began handling work independently.
At first, I was anxious about handling other companies' projects, so for about a month I shadowed my senior colleagues as they went about their work. Around June, I was able to grasp marketing work to a certain extent, and began handling tasks myself and then getting my senior colleagues to check them. After that, the scope of my responsibilities expanded, and now the number of tasks I handle alone has increased.
Also, when working with external parties, I make sure to confirm the context and current situation before proceeding. I consciously check the necessary information carefully to ensure there is no discrepancy in my shared understanding with the other party.
The biggest deciding factor was that I felt my own growth through the internship and felt that Bushiroad had an environment where younger employees could take on challenges.
While studying media since I was a student, I developed an admiration for work that delivers the appeal of content. Every time I saw anime advertisements in town, my heart would leap with the thought, "This is how the appeal of a piece of work spreads!" and I really wanted to be the one spreading the appeal someday.
Also, I originally liked anime, and after starting to learn Japanese, I came to feel even more attracted to Japanese entertainment. The appeal of Bushiroad’s in-house content, which fascinated me during my internship, was also a major motivating factor for me.
The deciding factor that ultimately led to my decision to join Bushiroad was the confidence that the working environment was one where I could deliver appealing content to more people.
What I learnt about media and marketing as a student is very useful in understanding my current advertising work.
I studied media hoping to enter the advertising industry since my student days, and my graduate school research was on newspaper reporting and related topics. I have encountered many situations at work where I can apply the theories and knowledge I have learnt to real-world situations, and I find it interesting that I can apply what I learnt as a student in real work.
Also, since I originally liked studying languages, I can apply these language experiences when handling overseas business matters at Bushiroad. Coming from China and speaking Chinese, Japanese, and English, so in an environment with many overseas marketing and business opportunities, I hope to further leverage my language skills in the future.
There was no major gap, but after joining, I had more opportunities to learn about Bushiroad than during my internship, and my perspective on work expanded greatly.
During my internship, I mainly learnt about my team's work and working environment, but after joining, in addition to deepening my understanding of Bushiroad’s in-house content, I had more interactions with peers and collaborations across departments. As I became increasingly involved with various departments and people, I gradually became able to see movements on a company-wide scale, and I realized the breadth of Bushiroad that I did not know during my internship.
There are many interactions not only with creative and music departments within Bushiroad Group but also with external parties, and there are opportunities to be involved with various kinds of work and people. Through such experiences, I have gradually come to understand how my work connects to the company as a whole.
What I find particularly difficult is putting myself in the other person's shoes and anticipating their needs.
Since Bushiroad Move has many opportunities to interact with external parties, I feel it is important to achieve progress in my work while thinking, "How can I reduce the other party's burden?" in addition to basics like greetings and manners. For example, when moving a project forward, I am conscious of acting from the other person's standpoint, such as preparing information they will need next.
I also feel it is important to report progress frequently and share updates. That is still challenging for me, so instead of advancing a project alone, I try to progress my work by cooperating with those around me while not forgetting to report and share.
My goal is to spread Bushiroad's brand around the world through Bushiroad's appealing content.
Bushiroad has many appealing content titles. In particular, "BanG Dream!" is popular not only in Japan but also overseas, including China. I want to spread Bushiroad's appeal to the world by delivering such content to more people.
Also, at Bushiroad Move, where I am currently posted, I want to establish Bushiroad Move as "an advertising agency with a strong presence in entertainment" recognized by many.
I would love for people who are passionate about entertainment or ideas like "I want to try this!" to apply!
At Bushiroad, you are placed in an environment where you can take on various challenges even as you are just starting out and let your own ideas take shape. I think it is a company where, if you speak up and say "I would love to try this," you will be given opportunities to take on challenges.
I would be overjoyed if we could acquire skills and knowledge working together and create worlds that are even more original and interesting!
